Sharni Vinson, an Australian American actress, dancer and model, was born on 22 July, 1983 in New South Wales, Australia. Sharni Vinson was raised in Sydney’s southern beach suburb of Cronulla, in Sutherland Shire.
During her teenage, Sharni Vinson was trained and was competing at a national level in swimming. During her tenure of swimming, Sharni Vinson has four state records throughout high school. At a very young age, Sharni Vinson began singing and dancing and became the third generation in her family of performers. Sharni Vinson’s mother was a performer in musical theater while her grandmother was offered a scholarship in the Brovansky Ballet Company in England in the year 1945, with her being the youngest ballerina. Sharni Vinson was a student at the Brent Street School of Performing Art in Sydney at the age of 12, where she was trained in various dance forms like the ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, tap. Sharni Vinson also gained training in drama, singing and musical theater for the next 10 years.
Sharni Vinson graduated from high school at the age of 17 and signed to Roadshow Music Australia as a member of all-girl pop group, “Fozfire IV”.
After “Foxfire IV”, Sharni Vinson made her acting debut with two episodes in the Australian soap opera, Home and Away in 2001 and 2003. Sharni Vinson was then offered a regular role in the series by the casting agent of Home and Away. Sharni Vinson had auditioned for the character of Martha MacKenzie, but couldn’t grab the role which was accepted by a fellow cast member at the time Jodi Gordon. On not being selected for the above role, Sharni Vinson played the character of Cassie Turner, which proved popular and grabbed a place in the nomination for “Most Popular New Female Talent” at the Logie Awards of 2006. In order to pursue her acting career in Los Angeles, Sharni Vinson left the series in 2008.
Sharni Vinson has acted in various TV series like Home and Away, CSI: NY, My Boys, NCIS and Cold Case. Sharni Vinson has also been a part of various films like Step Up 3D, where she was cast as the lead, Natalie in 2010, Blue Crush 2 and You’re Next in 2011, followed by Patrick in 2013, Dragon Blade in 2015 and House on Willow Street in 2016.
