Master of all trades as one would say, Abigail Evelyn Titmuss is an English actress, known for her role in Days of Our Lives (1965), Casualty (1986) and Do Elephants Pray? (2010). She is also a television personality, a serious poker player and former glamour model, who was voted #7 in FHM’s Sexiest 100 Women in 2005.
Titmuss began with her television career as a roving reporter on Channel 4, but she lost her job soon. However, she made appearances in series like ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ as a chef, on Channel 4’s ‘The Friday Night Project’ as a regular guest and also was present on the reality series ‘Deadline’ on ITV2. Not only television, but she has also guest-presented shows on Virgin Radio, MTV and LBC Radio.
Titmuss took to the glamour world has appeared on pornographic channel Television X, releasing a fitness video, put her name to erotica published by Black Lace and made personal appearances in nightclubs in the UK and Ireland. In 2004 and 2005, she made a total of 38 front-page appearances on British men’s magazines in the style section and in several tabloid newspapers. By 2005, her confidence on the magazine covers earned her the name of the “face of the 21st century”.
In late 2007, she announced about her break from modeling in order to focus on her acting career. It wasn’t an abrupt decision. She had acted during her university years and had taken up part-time acting courses. Thus, she took a leap of faith and chose to establish herself as an actress. In March 2006, she made her theatre acting debut in London, playing the role of a prostitute with a multiple personality disorder in Two Way Mirror by Arthur Miller, at the Courtyard Theatre in King’s Cross, for which she bagged the Fringe Report Award for Best West End Début. And since then, there was no looking back. She has acted in various theatre plays, films, and television series, earning herself a much-deserved fame and appreciation.
