Mastering the perfect smokey eye is all about mixing colors, adjusting the level of the colors and, most important of all, blending perfectly. This sexy smokey eyes step by step makeup tutorial will teach you what you need to know to recreate your own sexy smokey eye.
Step 1
Apply a BB cream, foundation or tinted moisturizer (whichever you prefer) as your makeup base.
Step 2
Apply an eyeshadow primer to make sure that the eye color will stay in place.
You may want to use shadow shields to prevent the eyeshadow powder from falling onto the rest of your makeup base. Creating a smokey eye look requires a lot of color and blending.
Step 3
Use an eyeshadow base to hold your eyeshadow in place and brighten up the colors of your look.
Step 4
Using a golden shade, apply this in the inner corner of the eyes.
Step 5
Use a taupe silver eyeshadow in the middle of the eyelids. Make sure to blend smoothly after application.
Step 6
Using a darker color, apply this shade on the outer corner of the eyes. You may apply more if you want a darker look.
Step 7
With a blending brush, blend the colors smoothly together and avoid any hard lines.
Step 8
Apply an dusky orange shade onto your crease area.
Step 9
To complete the eye colors, use the darkest shade that you want and apply on the outer V of the eyes again. This time, make your eyeshadow darker to achieve the sultry smoky eye base. Blend the colors smoothly together again to avoid the appearance of harsh edges.
Step 10
Once the colors are perfectly blended together, use a cream shade to highlight the area above the crease and under the brow bone.
Step 11
Apply dark green eyeshadow on the outer part of the lower lash line.
Step 12
Using the same dark colored eyeshadow you used on the outer corner of your eyes, apply this to your lower lash line.
Step 13
A smokey eye needs to be really fierce. To create a straight and well-defined line, use a gel liner and create a winged liner. Apply on the bottom lash line too. What’s the secret to a smoldering smokey eye? Smudge the eyeliner with a pencil brush.
Step 14
In the inner corner of the lower lash line, use a black eyeliner pencil to complete the line.
Step 15
Curl the lashes and apply a thick coat of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
That wasn’t so hard, was it? By knowing the basic steps, you can create any smokey eye look you want. Choose your own colors and experiment with different colors too. The sky is the limit if you’ve mastered the art of the smokey eyes.
