Born as Laura Marie Breckenridge in Flourtown, Pennsylvania on August 22, 1983, she is an American actress. She trained as a dancer with The Rock School for Dance Education, the School of American Ballet in New York City and also the Royal Ballet in London. She started working in films and television as a teenager starting with a small role in Went to Coney Island on a Mission from God… Be Back by Five (1998) as the twelve-year-old Gabby. Further small TV roles were in The Jersey and Boston Public (2001). She had spent her high school years alternating between work and school, also taking time for a social life in between assignments. She went to the Professional Children’s School in New York City.
In February of 2002, Breckenridge was cast in a Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, where she appeared alongside Laura Linney, Liam Neeson, and Kristen Bell. There were 101 performances held from March 7 to June 9 of that year. In fall 2002, Breckenridge started her studies at Princeton University. She soon joined the BodyHype Dance Company and was involved in the theater scene on campus. During her sophomore year, she took her first break from the school to appear in an Off Broadway play The Moonlight Room.
In the year 2005, Breckenridge landed her first major movie role as Bell Granger in Southern Belles. In the same year, she debuted on The WB’s Related where she played the role of college student Rose Sorelli. She ended up starring in nineteen episodes of that TV series. In the year 2006, she played the role of Colins in a film Loving Annabelle, based on a Catholic school student who fell in love with her female teacher. She also appeared in Let The Chirp Awhile (2007) as Dara, The Favor (2007), as Young Caroline, Beautiful Loser (2008) as Tracy, and in Amusement (2008) as Shelby Leds.
She took a four-year sabbatical from school before she returned to Princeton in 2008 to complete her studies alongside continuing with her acting career. In the year 2010, she graduated from Princeton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics. During this period, Breckenridge featured in three episodes of the popular TV series Gossip Girl (2009), and also the TV series Drop Dead Diva (2010) as Dawn Lucas, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as Julie Crenshaw. In the year 2011, Breckenridge appeared as Julia in Grey’s Anatomy. Later in 2011, she starred in the holiday film A Christmas Kiss which was first telecast on December 11, 2011 on the Ion Television network.
In the year 2012, Breckenridge kept working on TV shows like CSI: NY where she was seen as Lisa Roberts in an episode titled “Clean Sweep”, as Sara Anderson in The Mob Doctor’s episode titled “Legacy” and as Dana in the Blue Bloods episode titled “Higher Education”. In the year 2013, she was again seen as Dana on Blue Bloods in the episode titled “Mistaken Identity.”
