Lilly Singh got involved in a controversy for her remark on the turban in 2019. That year she visited Jessica Alba’s house where she met Alba’s two daughters who were wearing twisted towels on their heads. Seeing the twisted towel, Singh responded that they looked like her Punjabi friends.
For this remark, the members of the Sikh religion got angry and demanded that she compared turbans to twisted towels which aren’t right. She also apologized for her joke later. She was born on 26th September in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Sukhwinder Kaur and Malwinder Kaur.
She completed her graduation with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from York University. In 2010, she started her YouTube channel, IISuperwomanII and the name was inspired by her childhood idea that made her believe that she could do anything. In 2011, she launched her second channel, SuperwomanVlogs which is now titled, Lilly Singh Vlogs.
