Most of her previous works relied heavily on drama, which showcased her acting chops. However, her most notable role to date was a superhero series called Black Lightning.
Nafessa Williams stars as a metahuman with otherworldly strength and healing ability. Her character, called Thunder, is the first lesbian black superhero to appear on mainstream TV.
