Born on November 4, 1970, Bethenny Frankel is an American television personality, entrepreneur and author. Frankel is the only child of horse trainer named Robert J Frankel and Bernadette Birk, an interior designer. Her father was Jewish whileher mother was a Roman Catholic with Welsh origins, who converted to Judaism upon their marriage. Frankel was four years of age when her father separated from her mother. She was five when her mother married another horse trainer John Parisella. According to Frankel, her childhood was tough. Her biological father didn’t support her mother and family. Frankel says her mother “was always drinking” and often got into violent arguments with her stepfather.

She said she relocated a number of times and attended various schools before going to a boarding school. She went on to star in eight of the eleven seasons since the premiere of the show in 2008. She has since got her own spin-off shows Bethenny Ever After (2010-2012), Bethenny & Fredrik (2018) and a talk show Bethenny (2013-2014).

Apart from working in TV, Frankel is the founder of the Skinnygirl lifestyle brand and has written four self-help books. Her B Strong program expanded into disaster relief activities in the year 2017.

Frankel got married to an entertainment industry executive Peter Sussman in 1996, but, they divorced in the following year. She then married pharmaceutical sales executive Jason Hoppy in March 2010, and gave birth to a daughter named Bryn in May of the same year. Frankel and Hoppy separated in December 2012. They were finally divorced in July 2016, almost four years after their separation. In December 2017, she sued to get full custody of their seven-year-old daughter.

Frankel briefly romanced American director Trevor Engelson. As per Frankel, their romance turned into a business relationship later.
