The yoga teacher, Rachel Brathen was born on 5th October 1988 in Sweden. She is multilingual and can speak in English, Papiamento, Swedish, and Spanish. Her parents got divorced when she was two and then, both of her parents remarried.
At the age of 21, she began to teach yoga on the island and the rest is history. At the age of 28, she published her book, Yoga Girl that became a New York Times best-seller. Her Instagram account name is also Yoga Girl. She has founded Sgt Pepper’s Friends which is an animal rescue foundation based in Aruba and a global mission organization that runs social mission trips around the world. The organization rescues dogs and cats and tries to find them loving homes. She is also the founder of an online platform for meditation, yoga, and healing, named oneOeight.
Her next project is 109 World which is a global mission foundation where people can get involved in projects through social media. She along with her husband opened her first yoga studio, Island Yoga boasting a boutique, two shalas, an organic café, and offices for the team as well. She is a certified yoga influencer with an influencer score of 98 from the influencer marketing software, Klear. In 2017, she launched a podcast that reached the iTunes chart. That year, she has been named to the list of the most important social media influencers in the fitness category by Forbes.
