Born as Queen Naija Bulls on October 17, 1995, she is an American singer and songwriter, professionally known as Queen Naija. She has mentioned that her heritage is a mix of “Black and Arabic.”She has an African Amercian mother and a Yemeni father.
She was known as Queen Bulls in the past, but, first became popular as an American Idol contestant on the eighth season of the show. She had also given auditions a couple of years earlier, but, had not made it to the next round. In this attempt she reached the Hollywood round before being eliminated. Later she worked as a security guard. Alongside she kept building a YouTube career for herself.
She launched her YouTube channel in 2016, alongside her former husband Christopher Sails. Her YouTube channel named “Chris and Queen” had couple oriented videos, challenges, stories, vlogs and pranks. There were also videos featuring music created by the couple. There were some popular songs and remixed/cover versions. The channel’s popularity sky-rocketed and it reached 2.3 million subscribers within a year.
In December 2017, she released her own song “Medicine”. At the time she was an independent social media star and singer. Yet, the song debuted at number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 on April 10, 2018. She followed it by her next single “Karma” as an artist for Capitol Records in June, 2018. The song reached the overall #1 position on the iTunes charts.
