Born on 5 October 1990, Lais Ribeiro is a Brazilian model and Victoria’s Secret Angel. Before she started modelling, Ribeiro was training to become a nurse. A year after her son Alexandre was born, she took a friend’s advice and started working as a model in Brazil. In the year 2009, she walked the major international ramps for designers like Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Marc Jacobs. During the Brazil fashion week for spring/summer 2011 collections, Ribeiro was the most sought after runway model with 27 shows during Sao Paulo Fashion Week and 26 shows during Rio Fashion Week.
She has been featured in American, Brazilian, German and Italian Vogue and also in ad campaigns for Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Tom Ford, GAP and American Eagle. She has been working for Victoria’s Secret and has appeared in the 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows and also the 2011 Christmas commercial as well as the 2012 Valentine’s Day commercial alongside Candice Swanepoel and Adriana Lima. She was all set to walk the 2012 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but, she suffered an ankle sprain during the rehearsals. Her outfit for that year was handed over to Behati Prinsloo. In 2013, the Victoria’s Secret producers gave Lais a chance to open the Birds of Paradise segment.
She went on to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel in the year 2015. On November 1, 2017, Ribeiro was selected to wear the “Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra” for the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held in Shanghai, China. The $2 million dollar bra was created by Mouawad. The bra and its matching belt was handset with 6,000 yellow diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz in 18 karat gold.
Ribeiro has a son born on 17 May 2008. In the year 2014, she started dating American basketball player Jared Homan. They have later broken up and in September 2018, she started dating the NBA player Joakim Noah.
