Born as Kim So-Eun on September 6, 1989, she is a South Korean actress. She started acting with a minor role in the 2004 film, Two Guys, during her junior high school years. She further played minor TV and film roles including Sisters of the Sea, The Show Must Go On etc. Kim rose to prominence after she played a supporting role of the heroine’s best friend in the hit drama Boys Over Flowers (2009). Kim later appeared as an older mid-20s woman in a romantic comedy series He Who Can’t Marry, a remake of the Japanese drama Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. Kim’s first major role was in the daily drama Happiness In The Wind (2010) and it further made her famous. She then appeared in a weekend drama A Thousand Kisses (2011-2012) which revolved around the age differences in relationships.
In the year 2012, she appeared in the ten-episode Chinese drama Secret Angel which was aired on the website Sohu.com. She later made a comeback to the Korean TV in the cable drama titled Happy Ending. She also appeared in Music & Lyrics, a reality show where an actress and a male musician are paired as lyricist and composer respectively, to create a collaborative song. Kim and Lee Junho composed the song “Love Is Sad” which was released as a single and featured on the soundtrack of Feast of the Gods. After playing the role of Princess Sukhwi in a period epic Horse Doctor (also known as The King’s Doctor, 2012-2013), Kim played a starring role in After School: Lucky or not, opposite the five members of actor-idol group 5urprise, which was distributed via SK Telecom’s online and mobile portals.
After 2014, Kim starred in a scary film Mourning Grave where she played the role of a ghost girl who becomes a friend of a ghost-seeing high school boy Kang Ha-neul. Kim also joined the season four of the reality show We Got Married, where she was paired with Song Jae-rim in a ‘virtual’ marriage. In the year 2015, Kim starred in Scholar Who Walks the Night, where she played the dual roles of a nobleman’s daughter and a former lover of vampire. In the same year, she appeared in a web drama Falling for Challenge alongside Xiumin. In the year 2016, Kim signed with a new management agency Will Entertainment. From 2016-2017, she played a starring role in the family drama Our Gap-soon as the titular character.
In the year 2017, Kim played a leading role in the KBS Drama Special You’re Closer than I Think along with actor Lee Sang-yeob. In the same year, Kim made a comeback to the silver screen in a romantic fantasy film Are You In Love?, opposite Sung Hoon.
In the year 2018, Kim starred in a romantic comedy series That Man Oh Soo with CNBLUE’s Lee Jong Hyun.
