Born as Camilla Kerslake, she is an English classical crossover singer from London, UK, and had first signed to Gary Barlow’s record label. She was born in Dulwich to a Welsh mother and New Zealand-born father. Her family relocated to New Zealand soon after and lived there for eight years before going back to the UK. Kerslake is proud of her English/Welsh and Kiwi roots. After she attended Esher College, Kerslake wanted to learn singing, but, decided to sing contemporary as she was not able to pay for classical training.
In the year 2008, she managed to find a place in an all-girl pop group. She was selected at first, but, was freed soon as it was felt that being 20-years-old, she was too old for the group. She was fired up to work harder and started performing in pubs, and men’s clubs and also as an ABBA tribute band to pay for her own classical singing lessons.
On 26 June, 2018, she got married to the ex-captain of the England national rugby union team, Chris Robshaw at Chelsea Old Town Hall, London. They had a reception after 3 years at Le Preverger, a chateau in Cote D’Azurr, France.
She unveiled her debut album on 23 November 2009 in the United Kingdom. At the 2010 Classic Brit Awards, Kerslake was nominated for NS&I album of the year, and her live performance from the event with classical boy band Blake and Howard Goodall’s Enchanted Voices, became the first ever charity single to release from the awards.
Kerslake’s next album, Moments released on 21st March 2011 to critical acclaim. Kerslake has been mentioned as a coloratura soprano, and she can reach top B above high C (B6) as seen in ‘Stars at Night” from her debut album Camilla Kerslake and her live performances of “Canto Della Terra.” She has also played the role of Cosette in London’s West End production of Les Miserables, which needed her to sing up to C6 in the number “one Day More.”
